What was announced

According to the official LCO Pro F2 product page, the sight is a true 1x optic with an aspheric lens, an absolute co-witness mount, a CR123A battery, and Motion Sensor Technology that shuts illumination down after five minutes of inactivity.

Leupold lists a medium-setting battery life of 30,000 hours, a weight of 9.6 ounces, 1/2 MOA adjustments, and 140 MOA of total windage and elevation travel. It is designed, machined, and assembled in the United States.

What is actually notable

Four reticles and 30 illumination settings give the user unusually fine control without requiring a phone or companion app. That matters most for buyers moving between bright outdoor conditions, indoor lighting, and night-vision equipment.

The larger strategic signal is the price. Leupold is competing at the premium end of the carbine-red-dot market with optical-system and durability claims rather than software features. Whether that trade is worthwhile will depend on how much a buyer values glass quality, reticle flexibility, domestic production, and the company’s warranty.

What buyers should know

This is a specialized sight. A recreational shooter who needs a simple daylight dot can spend substantially less. The LCO Pro F2 makes more sense for someone who will use its night-vision range, alternate reticles, harsh-light control, or professional-duty feature set.
