Glock 43X MOS Adapter Plates: Exact Optic-to-Plate Map

The safe plate-shopping rule is simple: the listing must name the pistol on one side and the exact optic on the other. A shared footprint nickname is not enough to establish hardware or clearance.

First Decide Whether You Need a Plate

Glock’s optic mounting documentation defines standard Slimline MOS as RMSc and MOS-K as RMSc plus K. Glock’s G43X MOS product page also states adapter plates are not included.

The examples below are sourced from the plate maker’s exact listings. They demonstrate valid interface routes; they are not hands-on endurance ratings.

Other manufacturers may publish equally valid exact routes. The point is not that one brand owns compatibility; it is that the evidence must resolve both interfaces and the hardware between them.

The Wide-Optic Plate Is Not Our Default Recommendation

A plate can physically bridge the G43X/48 MOS to the larger RMR family, but that does not make the result the best carry setup. The plate adds width and height to a slim slide and uses a more complex attachment stack.

There is also a signal worth disclosing: the C&H GLX-RSH page currently contains several owner reports alleging loosening or fit problems, alongside a positive report. Those are anecdotes, not controlled testing, so they do not prove that every plate fails. They are enough that we would not call this a default purchasing recommendation without independent testing and an installation review. If an RMR-class optic is mandatory, discuss direct milling or another documented system with a qualified installer.

That is how secondary evidence should be used: as a caution and research lead, never as a substitute for the maker’s interface documentation.

Hardware Is Part of the Plate

A plate stack may have two distinct screw interfaces:

1. plate to slide;
2. optic to plate.

Those fasteners can use different thread systems and lengths. Keep the kit organized, read the current plate instructions, and do not replace a lost screw with one that merely threads into the hole. Too short reduces engagement; too long can bottom out, hold the optic above the plate, or interfere with slide internals.

On standard Slimline MOS, Glock’s current US page confirms M4 optic screws but does not publish a numeric protrusion limit for this cut. Repeated EPS Carry retailer Q&A and verified-owner reports describe the right screw contacting that plunger. These are field signals, not manufacturer verification; they reinforce the need to use the exact current kit and function-check the extractor rather than trusting a box label alone.

Glock separately warns that MOS-K cover screws are not optic screws in its MOS-K documentation. The same discipline applies to every cut: cover hardware, plate hardware, and optic hardware are not interchangeable categories.

Plate Height and Iron Sights

Every adapter changes the stack. Whether factory irons remain visible depends on:

• plate thickness;
• optic deck and window height;
• iron-sight height; and
• the amount of sight picture you consider useful.

Do not buy “co-witness” irons from the optic name alone. Assemble or dimension the exact slide/plate/optic combination first. Even C&H’s plate pages caution that the needed sight height varies by firearm, plate, optic, and slide cut.

Buying Checklist

• Case item number confirms standard MOS vs. MOSK.
• Plate title names G43X/48 MOS, not generic Glock MOS.
• Compatibility list names the exact optic model.
• Current package includes both required screw interfaces.
• Manufacturer instructions state torque and thread treatment.
• Plate and optic dry-fit flat without screw bottoming.
• Iron-sight expectations are based on the complete stack.
• Fasteners will be witness-marked and inspected after initial firing.
