The factory optic-ready Springfield Hellcat Pro uses the Springfield Micro footprint: an RMSc-pattern pocket with four recoil bosses and M4-0.7 threaded holes. Shield RMSc/SMSc and documented true-RMSc optics use the direct route. Holosun K optics such as the 407K, 507K, and EPS Carry are not the same geometry and require a verified RMSc-to-K plate on the unmodified factory cut. What Springfield Documents
Springfield’s current Hellcat Pro page says its OSP slide is milled with the Springfield Micro footprint. The company’s Shield SMSc Hellcat Pro bundle shows the reference optic mounted directly, and the official HC6070 kit names Shield RMSc, SMSc, and JPoint.
Together, those sources establish the host more precisely than retailer shorthand such as “micro red-dot ready.”

The shared screw spacing and similar outline do not make the bases identical. The adapter provides the top geometry the K optic expects while engaging the Springfield Micro host below.
How to Identify the Host
- Confirm the exact pistol SKU includes OSP.
- Unload and clear the pistol according to Springfield’s manual.
- Remove the slide and OSP cover as instructed.
- A factory Springfield Micro pocket has four raised recoil bosses and two M4-0.7 threaded optic holes.
- If the pocket was milled aftermarket, stop using factory-fit guidance and obtain the cut maker’s drawing and hardware specification.
The base Hellcat, Hellcat RDP, Hellcat Pro, and current Pro Comp can share this interface when sold in OSP form. The model name without OSP does not prove a factory cut.
The M4 Hardware Rule
Springfield’s Hellcat installation instructions specify M4-0.7 screws and a maximum protrusion of 0.095 inch / 2.4 mm below the optic. That protrusion measurement is more useful than a universal overall screw length because optic decks and plates differ.
The official HC6070 Shield/JPoint kit contains M4 x 0.7 x 7.5 mm screws. That length belongs to the named direct-mount optics. It must not be copied to a thicker or thinner optic, or to an adapter stack, without the maker’s documentation.
Threadlocker Is Not a Generic Step
Springfield specifically says do not put threadlocker into the slide holes. Follow the exact firearm, plate, and optic instructions for any permitted application to the screw itself. Excess compound in a blind hole can change seating behavior and make a screw appear tight before it has clamped the optic.
Why Footprint Fit Is Not Enough
The most important exception is the SIG ROMEOZero. SIG labels it COMPACT/Shield RMSc yet explicitly advises against mounting it on Hellcat pistols because the screw engagement is insufficient.

- exact firearm-to-optic route;
- exact plate-maker route;
- nominal footprint match.
A higher item overrides a lower one.

Choose a documented direct RMSc optic if minimum height and fewer parts matter most. Choose a K optic only after selecting a plate that names both the Hellcat Pro and optic model. Then verify actual screw protrusion, flat seating, iron-sight visibility, and holster clearance on the assembled system.
