The P365 family is not one optic host. It is a modular pistol family that now spans no factory cut, COMPACT/Shield RMSc, and SIG-LOC slides. A product recommendation made from the words “SIG P365” alone can therefore be mechanically wrong.

SIG’s current P365 operator manual provides that physical identification rule. It also separates filler- plate hardware from optic hardware. The manual’s plate torque is not a universal optic-installation torque.

Best SIG-documented RMSc starting point: ROMEO-X Compact
SIG’s ROMEO-X Compact and enclosed Compact pages identify the P365 and Shield RMSc interface directly. That gives both models a clean manufacturer-to-manufacturer fit trail on a COMPACT cut. A SIG-LOC slide also accepts Shield RMS-C footprints, but the optic still uses its top-mount hardware rather than the SIG-LOC optic’s bottom-mount system.
Choose open versus enclosed on maintenance, window, controls, and budget—not on a claim that we have drop-tested either one.
Dedicated SIG-LOC choice: ROMEO-X SIG-LOC Compact
The ROMEO-X SIG-LOC Compact is a separate enclosed optic. SIG calls it exclusive to SIG-LOC-ready P365 slides. Its screws secure it from beneath the slide and its body forms five contact points with the cut.
That means “SIG-LOC is backward-compatible” must be read in the right direction:
- a SIG-LOC slide can accept a Shield RMS-C optic;
- a COMPACT/RMSc-only slide cannot accept the SIG-LOC optic.

Holosun value and reticle route: 507K X2
Holosun Canada’s 507K product page explicitly calls the sight a direct fit for P365X/XL and says a four-boss slide needs an adapter. That model-specific statement is much better evidence than treating Holosun K and RMSc as identical—they are not.
For a base P365, XMacro, FUSE, AXG, replacement slide, or SIG-LOC slide, do not stretch the P365X/XL statement across the family. Identify the cut and obtain exact hardware confirmation. The dedicated 507K/P365 guide keeps those boundaries visible.
Enclosed Holosun route: EPS Carry
Holosun Canada’s official EPS Carry listing names P365 X/XL compatibility. The current EPS Carry page documents a K-footprint enclosed optic and includes an RMSc-to-K adapter plus multiple screw families. “Adapter included” does not mean every P365 should use it or that every included screw has the correct length for every slide. Treat the adapter, slide cut, and hardware as three separate decisions.
Model Names Are Not Cut Names
SIG’s current pages list COMPACT (Shield RMSc) on the P365X, P365-XL, and P365-XMACRO model tables. At the same time, SIG now sells SIG-LOC replacement slides and SIG-LOC-equipped variants. The current P365 manual covers both cuts.
This is why a retailer title such as “fits P365 family” is insufficient. For an online purchase, ask for the exact SIG SKU or a clear photo under the filler plate. For a pistol in hand, use raised bosses versus flush screw holes.
The Early-Rear-Sight Generation
Some earlier P365X/P365-XL slides carried the rear sight on the optic plate. SIG’s older manual instructed owners to remove the sight plate and rear sight together; current slides can use a separate top-access filler plate while retaining a rear sight. SIG still sells the older P365X sight-plate assembly and says it is not compatible with models whose rear sight mounts directly to the slide.
That change affects the backup-sight picture and plate-removal method. It does not by itself prove a different optic footprint. Inspect the actual cut after the plate is removed.
FUSE and AXG: Verify the Variant
SIG’s 2026 defense catalog documents the current P365-FUSE optic-ready configuration as compatible with SIG-LOC and RMS-C optics, and a factory ROMEO-X SIG-LOC version exists. Installation Rules That Survive Model Changes
- Unload and clear the pistol before removing the slide or plate.
- Identify the cut physically: raised bosses or flush screw holes.
- Use optic screws for the optic—not filler-plate screws.
- Dry-fit the optic or plate; it must sit flat without rocking or a screw bottoming out.
- Follow the current optic instructions for screw length, retention, and torque. Do not copy SIG’s filler-plate torque onto an optic.
- Confirm normal slide and extractor function, zero, witness-mark the hardware, and follow the maker’s recheck schedule.
